Simon’s love for cars began at a young age, helping maintain the family’s Riley. With a father and uncle who built a car in the 1950s, it’s safe to say that his passion for vehicles runs deep in the family. Simon learned to drive in a Triumph Herald and honed his skills working for local main dealers, where he sold cars from well-known brands such as Talbot, Fiat, Peugeot, Toyota, BMW, and Mitsubishi.

Caroline’s passion for cars blossomed in the 1990s while Simon worked for a BMW dealership, where he had the unique experience of driving a different company car every day. That iconic VW Golf advert featuring Paula Hamilton—where she almost drops the car keys down the drain—only added to the allure!

In 1996, Simon and Caroline combined their love of cars and founded Simon Shield Cars Ltd. We’ve been proudly operating from the same forecourt in Great Bricett ever since.
